Virtual Advent Calendar Day #23: Matthew Leptich Performs The Holly and the Ivy
Founding Member Matthew Leptich performs The Holly and the Ivy in dedication to Dean J. Griffiths. Dean arranged the song with Nicole Heyl for Rebecca Zellar's 2016 adaptation of A Christmas Carol while also playing the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
Dean loved working on music with his friends, and his minor key Christmas carols were a delight for all. He was collaborative, creative, goofy, and gifted with the ability to teach, make music, act, and sketch, all while doing math on a napkin to pass the time. He will be missed and not soon forgotten.
Thank you, Matt, for sharing this wonderful rendition of the song.
A bit of a renaissance man, Matthew is an actor, improvisor, musician, singer, writer, metal worker, and a blacksmith. He and his wife of 25 years have four children, three dogs, four cats, four chickens, and one rogue grackle.
This video will be available until tomorrow at 10 am when a new virtual surprise takes its place. All the Virtual Advent Calendar videos will be available December 25th - December 31st. Mosaic Players is a group of artists committed to the idea that our theatre will focus on human rights, social justice, and anti-racism. We promote dignity, respect, equality, inclusiveness, and understanding. We plan on creating original works, adapting literature, and producing shows that reflect the stories of our communities.
